Crazy Fingers

Crazy Fingers performed their first official show at Ultimate Farms on Halloween Night, 10-31-90. The original lineup was Bubba Newton on bass and Pete Lavezzoli on drums and vocals--both still in the band today--with Mike Greene on rhythm guitar, and Al Zilinsky on lead guitar. Mike and Pete originally shared the vocals between the two of them. The band went through a series of brief changes in the lineup for over two years, including Dave Harris on guitar and vocals; Craig Woloshin, also on guitar and vocals; and female vocalist Lisa Johnston.

Crazy Fingers finally settled on its longest lasting lineup in 1993, when Corey Dwyer and Rich Friedman joined the band, with Corey originally on keyboards, and Rich on lead guitar. Both Rich and Corey could sing as well, joining Pete to give Crazy Fingers a three-part vocal ability. The band continued to build its Florida fan base by playing a steady stream of weekly shows and expanding their vast GD repertoire. Within a year of Rich and Corey's arrival, the band began touring the state of Florida, opening for national acts, and writing original music to be recorded on two CDs to date.

By the mid to late 90's, keyboardist Josh Foster began joining the band for special events and statewide shows, eventually relocating from Tampa to become a full member in 1997. Longtime friend and colleague Billy Gilmore joined the band in 2007 on guitar and vocals, as well as having founded the Grass Is Dead with Bubba and Corey. As of summer 2008, the current lineup of the band is Bubba, Pete, Corey, and Josh.

The band has now played over 2500 live shows, still performing on a weekly basis along with our regional shows and festival appearances, which has enabled Crazy Fingers to build a devoted following and a nationwide reputation as one of the premiere Grateful Dead tribute bands in the country.

Crazy Fingers had the honor of sharing the stage with such acts as the Band, Ziggy Marley, the Neville Brothers, Warren Haynes and Gov't Mule, Little Feat, the Radiators, Merl Saunders, Zero and Steve Kimock, Melvin Seals and JGB, Buddy Miles, Country Joe McDonald, Jefferson Starship, Dark Star Orchestra, and Donna the Buffalo.

2

Crazy Fingers has also hosted prestigious guest musicians who have played with the band onstage, such as Buddy Cage, Buddy Miles, David Gans, Vince Welnick of the Grateful Dead, Ed Volker of the Radiators, and Stu Allen of JGB, to name a few. Crazy Fingers has also appeared at many prestigious festivals including Langerado, SunFest, MagnoliaFest, Harvest Fest, Ashe Fest, and others.

The first Crazy Fingers original studio CD, Come On and Dance, has sold out, and new copies have not been yet printed, because the band is considering a remix of the CD. The band's second studio CD of original material, Strange Life, remains available on the website through Paypal, and can also be purchased at live shows. Strange Life is a blend of several different styles of music including blues, folk, country, and good old rock and roll. Crazy Fingers is currently working on an upcoming CD of original songs, set to be available in 2009, perhaps with the remixed Come On and Dance, so stay tuned, and come join the band at the shows!

The Glass Camels play music that is inspired by the 30 year musical journey taken by the Grateful Dead. With ever changing set lists and an emphasis on improvisation, the listener can count on each show to have it's own special and memorable moments. Their expertise is not limited to Dead music, however. They also blend elements of New Orleans funk, bluegrass, country, blues, jazz, and rock into a style that is uniquely their own. Every tune is interpreted through the musical kaleidoscope the band has created from their 17 years of experience as North Florida's premier jam band. The line up includes: Dave Hendershott: Vocals, Guitar Pete Skenesky: Drums Chris Zosel: percussion Michael Pearson: Guitar, Vocals Ed Richardson: Bass Bryan Homan: Pedal Steel James Syfrett: keyboards. vocals The Glass Camels have shared the stage with a number of nationally touring performers. A partial list includes: Merle Saunders, Vassar Clements, Donna The Buffalo, Ancient Harmony, Col. Bruce Hampton, David Gans, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Foghat, The Other Ones, Peter Rowan and Ziggy Marley. They are also regularly featured at the Magnolia Festival in Live Oak, Florida.
